SAKE CUP – SAITO EIKUN (set of 12)

$50.00

Kyoto Saito Eikun   –  Traditional sake cup

This elevated glass sake cup is traditionally known as a “Bajohai” – a name meaning “on horseback”. It is said that this type of sake cup originates from the roaming peoples in Mongolia, who used it to drink wine while riding horses. In feudal Japan, samurai warlords also used Bajohai to enjoy sake while riding horse. The cup’s elongated glass base is easy to grip, and the body is carefully molded into a shape that prevents sake from spilling easily.

This sake cup carries the logo of “Eikun”, a sake from Saito Shuzo brewery in Kyoto, Japan.
